CheckPoints LLC today launches its CheckPoints app on the Android Market. The fastest growing mobile shopping application on the iPhone App Store, CheckPoints now offers Android users real rewards for scanning consumer product barcodes, with no purchase necessary.
Free to download and use, CheckPoints lets shoppers earn points by “checking in” to over a million U.S. retail locations and scanning barcodes on featured products from major brands, including Belkin®, Energizer®, Seventh Generation®, Tyson Foods®, Kmart and more. Points are instantly redeemable for real-world prizes like gift cards, gadgets, and airline miles.
“CheckPoints is the first rewards app to provide mainstream consumers real value,” said Mark DiPaola, CEO and cofounder. “We’ve attracted a dedicated group of young professionals and families that are looking for a way to stretch their budgets further this holiday season. This isn’t a fad for them – this is about dollars and cents.” CheckPoints users are predominantly female, and 64% are between the ages of 25 and 44.
CheckPoints’ arrival in the Android Market comes on the heels of its breakout consumer success this fall. Launched with an initial founders’ investment round, the app already has over 200,000 users – 100,000 of whom joined in just the last two weeks. CheckPoints users have proven highly engaged, using the app almost three times a day, and scanning featured products in stores hundreds of thousands of times.
“From the moment we debuted in the Apple App Store, we’ve had requests to expand to the Android Market – in fact, we’ve got a waiting list of over 10,000 people,” said Todd Dipaola, cofounder and President. “Android users are enthusiastic about finding new and unique uses for their phones, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the CheckPoints family.”
The CheckPoints application can be downloaded for free from the Android Market here.

IVR Technologies, Inc., a leading software developer of IP-based enhanced services and real-time billing solutions, announced today that they have added a Google Android compatible version to their popular Talking SIP Mobile smartphone line. Talking SIP Mobile is available on leading smartphone platforms like Blackberry®, Windows Mobile®, iPhone® and now Google Android to facilitate direct and callback calling from a mobile handset at significant cost savings over the typically exorbitant mobile international long distance rates charged by mobile carriers. Talking SIP Mobile smartphone applications are just some of the many in-demand and innovative services offered on the Talking SIP solution, which offers a fully integrated application, media and billing server, to drive revenue and higher margin to service providers’ next-generation networks.
Today’s mobile calling plans offer economical local and domestic calling, while international long distance calling is still prohibitively expensive – especially when roaming. Unfortunately, more cost-effective solutions for mobile users, such as calling cards and fixed-mobile convergence, are cumbersome and protract the calling process. On the other hand, the Talking SIP Mobile smartphone application provides an extremely simple and straightforward way to make long distance calls while at the same time realizing significant cost savings.
Talking SIP Mobile for the Google Android OS provides tight integration to the phone’s native dialer to allow the option of configuring a series of rules to govern when the application is used. Once configured, the user simply dials as they normally would on the telephone’s keypad or from the Contact list and Talking SIP Mobile, working in the background, will seamlessly determine how the call should be serviced based on these rules.
By offering applications that are so tightly integrated into the phone, mobile users can now make international long distance calls in the same manner and with the same quality as regular calls but at significant cost savings. In addition, next-generation service providers are able to drive additional revenue and margin to their networks by capturing long distance traffic that is currently being serviced by mobile carriers. The Talking SIP solution can service calling card and callback requests from mobile subscribers located anywhere in the world – thus removing any and all geographic boundaries to the service provider’s target market.
“The integration of Talking SIP into the Google Android smartphone platform offers compelling cost savings for mobile subscribers and tremendous opportunity for the next-generation service provider. The Google Android is a new mobile OS that is fast becoming a favorite amongst smartphone users and mobile handset manufactures and will only continue to grow in popularity. With Talking SIP Mobile’s tight integration with the phone’s contacts and native dialer, it offers a seamless, efficient and cost effective means for users to stay in touch with their customers, colleagues, family, and friends regardless of where they live.
As the mobile market continues to grow at an astounding rate it remains one of the last frontiers for high margin termination revenues. As a result of this opportunity, IVR Technologies has been quick to port Talking SIP Mobile across the most popular mobile operating systems to help our customers drive as much mobile revenue as possible to their networks. We are always looking for new and innovative ways for our carrier customers to build margins, increase revenues and add to their subscriber base and Talking SIP Mobile delivers on all these fronts,” said Randall Walrond, Vice-President of Product Development, IVR Technologies, Inc.

MobiOne: Simplifying Mobile Application Design and Delivery for All

Flower Mound, TX (Vocus) November 16, 2010
Genuitec, LLC, today announced the production release of MobiOne Studio, version 1.0. With over 500,000 downloads of MobiOne in the beta stage, the much-anticipated production release brings simplicity and ease-of-use into a convoluted mobile design marketplace. By removing native programming skill requirements and offering fully-integrated testing capabilities, MobiOne is truly the first mobile application designer for the consumer market.
“Our goal was to make smartphone application design accessible to every marketing and communications professional by removing the need for advanced software development skills,” said Maher Masri, president and CEO for Genuitec. “Now, drivers of mobile initiatives – usually marketing and Web teams – can design, test and share mobile applications in just a few minutes.”
MobiOne consists of two powerful components; the Design Center and the Test Center. Nearly anyone can create their apps in the Design Center by dragging and dropping components onto an easy-to-use design canvas and then brand their app with their own artwork. Anyone with PowerPoint layout experience already has all the skills necessary to design a mobile application using MobiOne and a mouse.
Users then have the option of running their designs in the MobiOne Test Center, which provides an industry-leading iPhone emulator and the the ability to inspect the generated mobile code. To go a step further, users can test and share their mobile apps by sending them directly to their phones.
“MobiOne Studio uses the most impressive technology on the market today with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript built into a WebKit engine for smartphone app development and emulation,” said Wayne Parrott, vice president of product development for Genuitec. “This means that users can utilize Web technologies to create powerful applications that run on smartphone devices without native coding knowhow.”
MobiOne is available for Windows operating systems only, allowing Windows-based shops previously-unseen access to iPhone and other smartphone application design. While the 1.0 version focuses on iPhone application design, MobiOne’s roadmap will create the premiere cross-device toolkit for mobile development.
MobiOne is available for a 15-day free trial, and is conveniently priced at $ 99.95 for a perpetual license. Periodic feature upgrades will be available for a low fee as more smartphone devices are added and existing devices evolve.
MobiOne will next support Android, tablets (such as the iPad), Blackberry, Nokia and Windows mobile devices.
